What is Ca$h for Carpools?

Carpools, the new cool

For a limited time, commuters who currently drive alone to work or college can earn $25 each by forming a new carpool! You’ll benefit by:

  • Earning FREE gas cards by carpooling
  • Cutting your commute costs by 50%
  • Reducing wear on your vehicle
  • Enhancing your quality of life and lowering stress by ridesharing
  • Helping to cool the planet and reduce traffic congestion

How does it work?

  1. Join the Cash for Carpools Program sponsored by Commute Solutions. Anyone who switches from driving alone to carpooling is eligible! Each carpooler must individually register online.
  2. Once you are registered, you will receive an email with instructions for how to report your weekly carpool trips and submit your gas receipts to qualify for the incentive. Keep your gas receipts every time you fill up your tank.
  3. Report your daily commute patterns using 511.org’s Trip Diary and submit gas receipts to receive your free gas card.
  4. Successful participants will also be entered into a drawing for a $600 gas card!

Only two new carpoolers are needed, but 3 or 4 are great too!

Just make and record 12 round trips by carpool on your carpools trip tracker.

How do I find other people with whom I can carpool?
Use our free instant online ridematch service to get a list of commuters who want to share a ride and who share your same schedule at ridematch.511.org or call 429-POOL. Or ask your friends, family or coworkers if they are interested in saving money too.

What are the terms of Ca$h for Carpools?
The program is offered on a first come, first served basis. Commute Solutions may discontinue the program at any time and withhold the incentive if participants have not met their carpool log or gas receipt requirements. The number of incentives is limited.
